Sarum Collective FAQ Page

Curious about the Sarum Collective and what it entails? You've come to the right place! This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page is designed to provide you with essential information, addressing common queries about our initiative.

What is the Sarum Collective?

The Sarum Collective is a revolutionary initiative launching in Salisbury in March 2024. It is a platform dedicated to fostering collective imagination and collaborative creativity, with a focus on empowering individuals aged 20 to 30 (but any age can apply.)

Who is behind the Sarum Collective

The Sarum Collective is hosted by James Gough a cultural management professional with over 25 years of experience. Living in Salisbury and working across the UK, his consultancy GJG explores how structures, plans, and strategies can help people live their best lives through arts and culture.

Why focus on individuals aged 20 to 30?

Salisbury presents unique challenges for young individuals with a predominantly retired population and no tertiary education establishments. The Sarum Collective aims to provide a platform for young minds to generate creative ideas, take ownership of their development, and make positive changes in their community.

What is Collective Imagination?

At its core, Collective Imagination is a journey that connects, supports, and fuels a group of people as they grow together. It's about initiating a learning community where individuals pool skills, resources, and momentum to multiply the whole group’s development.

What will the process be?

The Sarum Collective follows a 6-month structure for peer-led learning that can be adapted for different contexts.

The journey kicks off with an intensive weekend or a series of evening sessions involving coaching, training, skills-development, and network mapping (whichever works best for the group). From evening meet-ups to Power-Up days, the next 6 months will maximise the collective potential of the peer group.

The journey concludes with a Sharing event, designed by the group to shine a spotlight on their learning.

What is the vision for the Sarum Collective's impact?

The Sarum Collective envisions creating a ripple effect, empowering the next generation in Salisbury to harness their creative potential, shape their futures, and contribute meaningfully to the community and beyond.
